I actually stopped reading this which is something I usually hate to do, but in this instance I just didn't see the stories improving as I went on. This was my first introduction to Sedaris and I'm really disappointed. I suppose that his sense of humour just isn't my cup of tea and that surprised me a little since I do like black humour and authors with a sardonic side to them, but in this instance everything just passed me by a couple of miles.I'm not sure if it's because Sedaris was inviting us to laugh at the misfortune of others, or if it was just the writing itself. Either way it gets a one star and a half from me.
